Hexagonal bolts for steel structures are widely used as fasteners in steel structure connections.

Its features include:

1. High strength: able to withstand large loads and tensile forces, ensuring the stability of steel structure connections.

2. Good corrosion resistance: Usually subjected to special surface treatment to adapt to the environment in which the steel structure is located.

3. Accurate dimensions and threads: Ensure a tight fit with nuts or other connectors.

The application scenarios of steel structure hexagonal bolts are mainly concentrated in various types of steel structure buildings and engineering, such as:

1. Factory construction: used for connecting main structural components such as steel beams and columns.

2. Bridge construction: Connect the various steel structural parts of the bridge.

3. Tower structure: such as power towers, communication towers, etc.

When selecting hexagonal bolts for steel structures, factors such as strength grade, material, and surface treatment method need to be considered to meet the specific requirements of the project.

The performance levels of bolts used for steel structure connections can be divided into more than 10 levels, including 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, 12.9, etc. Among them, bolts of grade 8.8 and above are made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium carbon steel and undergo heat treatment (quenching, tempering), commonly known as high-strength bolts, while others are commonly referred to as ordinary bolts.

The bolt performance grade number consists of two parts of numbers, which respectively represent the nominal tensile strength value and yield strength ratio of the bolt material. For example:

A bolt with a performance level of 4.6, which means that the bolt material has a nominal tensile strength of 400 MPa; The yield strength ratio of bolt material is 0.6; The nominal yield strength of the bolt material is 400 × 0.6=240MPa grade.

High strength bolts with a performance level of 10.9 can achieve a nominal tensile strength of 1000MPa after heat treatment; The yield strength ratio of bolt material is 0.9; The nominal yield strength of the bolt material is 1000 × 0.9=900MPa grade.

In practical applications, the most commonly used high-strength bolts are grade 8.8 and grade 10.9, while the most commonly used ordinary bolts are grade 4.8. To distinguish high-strength bolts from ordinary bolts, the grade number marked on the bolt head, such as 4.8 or 8.8, can be used to determine. In addition, auxiliary judgments can also be made from factors such as color, sound of torture, or sparks generated by polishing machines. Black bolts may be high-strength bolts, and the sound of high-strength bolts is usually crisp.
